Real peppercorns Back

Black peppercorns from Mondulkiri

These black Mondulkiri peppercorns are generously sized, a beautiful brilliant dark brown colour and extremely aromatic. They are pleasant on the nose and the peppercorns are very appetising. The first notes are hot, milky, evoking yoghurt, as well as dry plant notes evoking hay and tobacco. Once crushed, these peppercorns release very beautiful fresh, menthol and slightly resinous notes, with a touch of eucalyptus and base notes of cocoa. This pepper has a very moderate spice, which is not immediate, with a rating of 3-4 on the Comptoir des Poivres strength scale.

Whole black pepper from Mondulkiri
Piper nigrum L.

This pepper is cultivated in Cambodia's Mondulkiri, ‘Meeting of the Hills’ Province, also called "the Switzerland of Cambodia" due to its lush green hills, peaking at an altitude of 800 to 1000 metres. Mondulkiri is one of the most remote regions of Cambodia and borders Vietnam.
This pepper would perfectly accompany red meats, oily fish like mackerel, sardines, tuna. It will bring out your dishes with brown sauce bases, tomatoes, marinades. Try it with white cheeses, fruit salad or stewed fruit or even with chocolate.
